    Rainbows in the joy of city

    Sister M. Cyril Mooney, Head of the Loreto Day School in Kolkata and Padma Shri awardee opens up the gates of school to homeless children

    Franchise model

    Ferd van Koolwijk, a Dutch businessman, initiated the Rainbow Home Program with Sr.M.Cyril Mooney, believing a simple way to address the problem of street children and provide a basic cost-effective and replicable solution!

  • 2002-2006

    Expansion in loreto Schools

    4 Rainbow Homes were opened in the loreto schools across Kolkata!

  • 2006-2007

    Dilse Campaign in Delhi

    a voluntary, passionate set of people, launches a campaign to establish a collaboration of caring between governments.The first boy's home Ummeed and girl's home "Khushi" inaugurated.

  • 2007-2009


    "Kilkari", the second home in Delhi opened ; Amanvedika opened two girls homes in Hyderabad along with Six more homes.

  • 2010

    National Rainbow Coordination Center(NRCC)

    National Rainbow Coordination centre, headed by K. Anuradha , established in Hyderabad to coordinate the expansion and monitoring of children's homes. Indradhanush Academy set up in Delhi to research and document the good practices around children in vulnerable circumstances.

    Four homes set up in Bangalore; three boys opens in Hyderabad.

  • 2012-2013


    3 Homes in Chennai and 4 Homes in Patna. One Home in Bangalore.

  • 2014

    Rainbow Foundation India

    Rainbow Foundation India established

  • 2015


    1 Home opened and 2 Homes are in process.

  • 2016


    2 more Homes are opened.
