The GSRD Foundation team from Netherlands comprising of Chair person, Yos, Klaas de Jong, Michiel Steeman, Rien van,Puck and Frouka visited Rainbow Foundation India, Hyderabad, and explored the Rainbow Homes and its operational pattern.
The GSRD team had intensive deliberations with the children of the Homes, on issues of children’s stay in the homes, care pattern, food and nutrition, education, artistic skills, children’s future livelihood thoughts etc. The team also had field visits to some of the parents and met them on their makeshift street houses.
The team also had discussions with the leadership team of Rainbow Homes Programme and also the staff of various Homes, apart from discussing with various present external funders of program, who are supporting in various ways.
The team made an effort to understand the long term strategy of Rainbow Homes programme through the LTS (Long Term Strategy) document. The GSRD team were appreciative of various ways and means that Rainbow Homes Programme is taking to mobilize the children from the streets, give them good food and nutrition and provide them comprehensive care along with provision of quality education.
GSRD team has promised the children through Rainbow Homes that they would like to partner Rainbow Homes Programme in its long journey of providing Life to these unfortunate children and mainstreaming them in making them good citizens.
GSRD has asked Rainbow Homes Programme to make Flagship Homes, which can be a good roll model for all others to emulate in terms of comprehensive care and upbringing of children.
GSD assured support to the strategy and operation of Rainbow Homes model through complete support. The team also said that they will provide a rolling commitment for the intended support from GSRD.
